Dumping of Home Garbage

Thank you to our Public Works Department employee, Jo Bennett, for cleaning up the trash and mess that was left due to overflowing garbage cans Monday morning.  After noticing it while driving through town, she offered to clean it up without skipping a beat.  Thank you for keeping our public spaces clean and clear of debris.
Upon further inspection, it was found that multiple bags of home garbage had filled up the receptacles causing it to overflow.
We would like to remind citizens that dumping of your home garbage in a public receptacle is prohibited and can result in a penalty of up to $1,000.
Local garbage service is provided by R. Sanitary and they can be contacted at (503) 355-2522 to set up service.
