Updates re: COVID 19

The Governor’s Office along with Oregon Health Authority and the Oregon Department of Education held a press conference to address rising COVID-19 cases in Oregon.  The captured takeaways were:
• Along with state employees, health care workers and K-12 staff, and volunteers must be fully vaccinated by October 18th or six weeks after full FDA approval, whichever is later, unless an exemption is met.
• Those not yet vaccinated are advised by OHA to be mindful of choices. Consider not gathering with others and follow COVID-19 safety precautions: wear a mask, wash hands, and keep 6ft of distance from other. Make a plan to get vaccinated as soon as possible.
• Wearing a mask indoors and when in crowded areas is a simple, important tool we can all use to help reduce the spread of COVID-19 and decrease the strain on our hospital systems and health care workers. Wearing a mask protects from infectious droplets getting into the air and infecting others – this is especially important for individuals not yet vaccinated and will add additional protection to those who are vaccinated.

COVID-19 vaccines (all three!) are available at no cost at health care offices across Tillamook County and at the local pharmacies. If you have not yet been vaccinated and you are eligible, please talk with your health care provider, nurse, pharmacist, or other trusted medical source about the vaccine.
